  1. Very nice haiga. I see a small bird on the trails around here that fly just a few feet above the ground, in and around the bushes. Because of their speed and altitude, they seem to be in a world of their own, yet, there they are, a few feet away! if you’re watching! See my haiga at: http://wp.me/p6wNhl-sX

    • aloha Dave. yeah, i know those birds (there and here too). when i watch them for a while i begin to see the layer of air and the objects they navigate in a different way. a different kind of spacial way than i usually think of, as i walk. it can become quite magical. that’s the reason i’d like to be able to fly. not necessarily to soar hundreds of feet above the planet (which would be cool too), but to navigate that layer of the planet just above it’s surface. something we can only approximate with scuba gear. yet these tiny creatures do so with speed and accuracy. beautiful. this dark bird caught my eye and i watched it until i couldnt see it. i never once heard a sound from it or it’s movements. it was as if it were a silent film. and another kind of magic. way fun. aloha r.
