Haiga is one of the many Haiku and Related Forms in the field of poetry.
Haiga as I see it is image which includes haiku as part of the image—image and haiku as one work.
This is my response to the Phoneography and Non-SLR Digital Photo Challenge: Black and White for Monday October 20, 2014, found on the Lens and Pens by Sally blog.

A reminder for those interested in Haiku and Related forms I encourage you to look into Chrissi L. Villa’s new Frameless Sky – The First Haiga and Tanka Video Journal which is currently accepting submissions and will do so through October. You can discover more about Chrissi through her blog, Blossom Rain. I have known Chrissi online for several years having met through our common interest in Haiku.

Another haiku and related forms opportunity with a different take on haiku is on a blog by Ian Row—Hot Cross Haiku. Given that we are in an explorative time around haiku, which is how new forms arise, for some this may be just the venue, so take a look. Here is the Promo Message:
Hot Cross Haiku serves up a mixed platter of contemporary and traditional haiku.
Playful, incisive, whimsical, pertinent and always tasty, Hot Cross Haiku is available at a blog near you, on Facebook and on Twitter.
Hot Cross Haiku welcomes contributions and comments from hot crossers around the world.
There are also Spot Haikus and Speed Rounds. And cats.
So come in and make yourself comfortable.
