Driven ~ #006 April 2014 – Haiga/Haibun for #FWF Free Write Friday: Joanne Harris Words (and) NaPoWriMo
Between Paintbrush and Spring
two A.M. twisted. in bed sheets. a dream. before I wake. this distant Spring. opening edges. into otherness. other worlds. I sit up. my paintbrush in hand. knowing she watches. urging. urgent. in silence. knowing. in silence. this need for light. hue. pigment. blossom. random. and intentional. strokes. splattered on canvas. wet paper. dreams. she knows. waiting on edge. patient. impatient. to begin. struggling for patience. control. in the silence. i wake. again. knowing she watches. and will not wait. long. thoughts in my skull. scatter. i know. she waits. for my return. here. strokes. these brushstrokes. of paint. a slathering. release. driven. pleasure. driven. she is like that. pure. pleasure. silken. buttery. wet. paint. tactile. these colors of Spring. otherness. in her. my muse.

these distant colors of Spring

This is my (slightly edited) response to the #FWF Free Write Friday April 11, 2014 Joanne Harris prompt, found on Kellie Elmore’s Blog.
April is National Poetry Writing Month (NaPoWriMo) 2014. I hope to contribute at least one poetic writing each day—although I will post these on my blog only as I post (which currently is about 2-4 times a week). My response for:
**
April 09
Spring walk
the birds in morning song
till ten A.M.
**
April 10
even the dog
this scent of Spring
in the grass
**
April 11
young blossom
the Spring colors remain
a mystery
