Haiga ~ Image with Haiku as One Work
This is a variation on what is sometimes called a “White-Out” technique. The page of a book, news paper, magazine or other printed material (or words in a digital format) is selected (in this case I used a section of a Google search result page). The words to be exclude are then whited out (or they could be blacked out) leaving the words of your haiku.
This is also a variation on what is sometimes called “found” haiku as well.
I’ve added a further twist via digital technology and layered in a section of an altered photograph.
The prompt for today is: Google (Sept. 4)
Each 30 Days of Haiga post has a new Mister Linky button for that day. To connect your haiga post to the prompt for today, click on the Mister Linky button below and add your post URL link (which is different from your blog URL link) as indicated.
Leave a note in the comment section when you add your haiga post URL link and I will try to come visit your haiga (this may take a few days—especially toward the end of the month). Currently I’m already behind on comments and visits. I hope to remedy this in the coming days.
Anyone can visit haiga created by others. Click on the Mister Linky button and then the post you’d like to visit.
The next three Direction/Inspiration/Prompts for 30 Days of Haiga September 2013:
- 5. Cheese and/or Pizza (Sept. 5)
- 6. Book(s) and/or Pilgrimage (Sept. 6)
- 7. Grandmother and/or Painting (Sept. 7)
You are welcome to participate as often as possible in 30 Days of Haiga September 2013—and have fun.
For additional information click September 30 Days of Haiga in the navigation bar at the top of this page under the header. Aloha—Rick.
