My response to prompt #234, Aki Chikashi (autumn near) for the Carpe Diem June 2013 prompts, which have been centered around traditional “kigo” or “season words” for summer.  Aki Chikashi (autumn near) is a kigo for autumn.

June on Carpe Diem has been divided into three different seasons of traditional summer kigo: Early Summer, Mid Summer and Late Summer. The informative prompt and responses to this prompt can be found on the Carpe Diem Blog.

You are invited to respond to these prompts as well.

In July, although I will be working on other projects, I hope to participate in the Carpe Diem prompts occasionally.

As I understand it, Carpe Diem will focus on traditional autumn kigo in September.

Have fun. Explore haiku. Aloha—Rick
