Please Note:  The Carpe Diem blog will feature a terrific month of haiku “Specials” in July centered around Jane Reichhold. All “Specials” for July 2013 on Carpe Diem will be Jane’s. Jane is a gifted and influential writer of  haiku, as well as on haiku and haiku thinking. She is extremely insightful and her (Jane Reichhold’s) Ah-ha Poetry site is a great resource as well as inspirational. If you have an interest in haiku, explore what Jane offers.

My response to prompt #215, Botan (peony) for the Carpe Diem June 2013 prompts, which are centered around traditional “kigo” or “season words” for summer.

June on Carpe Diem has been divided into three different seasons of traditional summer kigo: Early Summer, Mid Summer and Late Summer. Botan (peony) is an Early Summer kigo. The informative prompt and responses to this prompt can be found on the Carpe Diem Blog.

You are invited to respond to these prompts as well.

Have fun. Explore haiku. Aloha—Rick
