This classic kigo was a challenge for me. I think in the classic kigo sense “spring” and “thin ice” are redundant. In western mind perhaps they are not so apparently doubled.
I also consider this a little too complex to be considered etegami (maybe not in the current state of new exploration going on with these forms). It still functions as a postcard although I have not posted it to the 19 Planets Cafepress shop.
