night filter.
through my eyes
shadow lingers. beyond the light
shadow sounds. movement fading
into darkness. drifting through this silence
I become still, listening; the rustle of leaves,
a cricket begins, the distant barking of a dog.
so still this timeless light. deepening
into sleep I dream.
so far away
the ancient night
through leaves
